Jeff Berner has been an active fine art, editorial and multimedia photographer since 1968. His assignments have included fashion, hot-air ballooning, open-heart surgery, and editorial illustration - receiving a number of awards, including two from Life magazine.
He has photographed in Europe and China. His work ranges from nature studies and ocean-going yacht racing, to portrait photography-and the photo illustration and design for Uncarved Block, Unbleached Silk: The Mystery of Life, a study of Zen and the sense of beauty, by the late Alan Watts. His photography is found in private collections and in numerous publications, including Life, Omni and Psychology Today.
Jeff has taught photography at the Rudolph Schaeffer School of Design, San Francisco; Esalen Institute, Big Sur, California; and at the Volcano Art Center on Hawaii's Big Island. He lives in Marin County, California.
